Global Public Health MSc graduate Melanie Poyser video transcript

The following is a transcript of an interview with Global Public Health MSc graduate Melanie Poyser about her experience on the course:

Melanie Poyser: Obviously, studying online means that you don't have physical interaction with your fellow students, but you can also build up relationships with them on WhatsApp groups and individual friendships do come out of working together on certain projects.

I think that my MSc will help me immensely, fingers crossed. I embarked on this journey because I wanted to know more about the areas that I was interested in, specifically around how different situations affect people with learning disabilities. And I feel that by doing my own research into this area through my dissertation, I learnt a huge amount about this area and other things as well, and how it impacts people with learning disabilities and their carers and the professionals who have to support them as well.

So I think that will help me immensely, because I now feel a lot more informed, a lot more well armed with information that hopefully will help shape policy and services.
